To meet the growing demand of Electrical Engineers in the Government and private sectors, the department is putting up the best efforts to produce highly trained and capable engineers who can take up the challenges of the real world. The quality of teaching learning, conduct guidelines and departmental activities are designed and monitored to produce competent and employable engineers. The department strives to provide its students with appropriate knowledge and practical skills in electrical engineering so that they become well rounded engineering graduates, who will not only be technically adept but also disciplined and morally upstanding. Graduated students from this department have been successfully working and holding key positions in different sectors of modern industries. Department has been taking up true initiatives to encourage nationally and internationally acclaimed research contributions from the students as well as from the faculty. The aim of the department is to provide standard and quality programmes of undergraduate and post graduate education; to be a technically active unit advancing the knowledge of engineering; and to serve the community and industry as an agent of technological, educational innovation and advancement. This institute is dedicated to transforming young students into proficient professionals who would be globally competitive. As far as the department is concerned, our department is committed to prepare students for the industry and be successful in higher studies. The electrical engineering department has specialized faculties in all important areas of electrical engineering such as power system, power electronics & drives, control & automation, measurements, machines and signal processing. The academic and research activities in the department focus on the frontier areas of electrical engineering such as Power Quality Studies, Condition Assessment of Electrical Equipments, Distributed generation, Soft switching of converters, High Voltage & Insulation Systems, Signal Processing and applications of emerging AI based tools and technologies to provide prudent solutions. These activities help to explore the cutting edge technologies, which keep our students and staff in touch with latest developments in the field of Electrical Engineering. Our major emphasis of imparting technical training is to encourage curiosity and innovativeness among our students and lay a foundation from where they can acquire quick learning ability and become adaptable with the fast changing needs of the industry. Our faculty members are experts in the areas they teach. Not only do they provide a solid grounding in the academic theories and concepts of their specialty, they also mentor the students to develop requisite characteristics to face stiff professional challenges. Students are always encouraged to get involved actively in different intra and intra-college co-curricular and extra –curricular activities Educational tours and industrial visits are regularly organized to enhance the practical knowledge of the students and to interact with the recent technologies used in the industries. Tracer study reveals that our alumni are employed in good positions in different national and multinational organizations.
